The Challenge

Cedar & Stone launched with a paid social-first strategy that worked well early on, but rising CPMs were compressing margins year over year. They had zero organic presence — no rankings, minimal domain authority, and a site that had never been audited or optimized. Starting from zero is both the hardest and most rewarding scenario in SEO.

Our Approach

We started with the audit to establish the baseline and identify any technical issues before building on top of them. The site was relatively clean technically, so we moved quickly into strategy — full keyword research across the product catalog and adjacent content opportunities, a content architecture that grouped products into logical topic clusters, and a 12-month editorial calendar. On-page optimization of existing product and collection pages came first, followed by a consistent cadence of new content targeting top and middle funnel searches.

The Results

At 12 months, organic traffic had tripled from a near-zero baseline. The channel had grown from 0% to 18% of total revenue — a meaningful reduction in paid dependency. The site now holds 47 first-page rankings across product, collection, and content terms, and the organic channel compounds each month as the content program matures.
