We're not for everyone.
That's kind of the point.
Salt City Digital is a small SEO agency. We work with a deliberately limited number of clients, care genuinely about their businesses, and say what we actually think — even when it's not what someone wants to hear.
On SEO
There's rarely a silver bullet
Anyone who tells you one fix will transform your rankings is either inexperienced or selling something. Real SEO progress comes from doing twenty things right — technical foundation, content architecture, ongoing production, consistent monitoring — and being patient enough to let it compound.
Business strategy comes before SEO strategy
We get genuinely interested in our clients' businesses — not just their keyword rankings. Who are you trying to reach? What makes you different? What does a good customer actually look like? Those answers shape everything downstream. SEO without business context is just traffic without purpose.
We'll tell you what we actually think
There are debates in SEO where the honest answer is "we don't know for certain" and debates where someone is clearly wrong. We'll tell you which is which. If we think a strategy is a bad idea, we'll say so. If we disagree with something you've read, we'll explain why. Agreeable isn't the same as good.
There's almost always a way to solve the problem
Platform limitations, budget constraints, technical debt, content backlogs — these are real obstacles, not dead ends. Part of our job is finding a path through them. We'd rather spend an hour figuring out a creative solution than tell a client something can't be done when it just can't be done the obvious way.
Small by choice.
Intentional about everything.
We're not trying to become a 50-person agency. The work is better when the people doing it are close to the client, understand the business, and have enough bandwidth to actually think. Leverage — junior staff doing work that gets reviewed once a month by someone who barely knows your name — produces mediocre SEO at scale. We're not interested in that model.
Communication isn't a checkbox for us. If something changes, if we see an opportunity, if we think there's a problem — you hear about it. Not in a monthly report two weeks after the fact. Actually hear about it.
We're selective about who we work with because the relationship has to work both ways. We want clients who care about doing it right, who understand that SEO compounds over time, and who are willing to be honest with us the same way we're honest with them. Those engagements produce the best work and the best results.
